about
Inspired by the likes of Joan Baez and Anita Carter, Imogen wanted to reignite the old romance of country songs, whilst simultaneously creating something for people to dance to. “Some Things Are Best Over Said” narrates wearing your heart on your sleeve, not only romantically, but also with your friends, family, and creative passions. The songwriter confides, “Life is short, and I am not one to be coy about my love for someone. If you make me happy, I want to shout it from the rooftops and show my appreciation. I think we get too fixated on being too much for others, not being cool enough, but there is nothing more dope to me than an honest heart and someone who isn't afraid of being judged for showing it.”
lyrics
Here’s the thing I said I wanted your love
And there’s no one else
Like there was nothing else
Rolling out in my life
Here’s the lie I told you that one time
I said there’s nothing left
I searched on every step
Driving through the wrong signs
But he’s got my waist
Sides turning
Bullet in my eye
Minds burning
All my over thoughts are humming
Singing my oh my oh my
CHORUS X2
Hold me in my heaviness
Use every breath
I guess somethings are best over said
Love me loud, don’t love me less
I guess somethings are best over said
Oh the world is burning
And my head, it can’t take nothing else
Sadness on my shelf
Taking in the wrong sights
Five years down the line
And in the shine
I could have no one else
Save me from myself
Crossing at the right time
But he’s got my waist
Sides turning
Bullet in my eye
Minds burning
All my over thoughts are humming
Singing my oh my oh my
CHORUS X2
Hold me in my heaviness
Use every breath
I guess somethings are best over said
Love me loud, don’t love me less
I guess somethings are best over said
But he’s got my waist
Sides turning
Bullet in my eye
Minds burning
All my over thoughts are humming
Singing my oh my oh my
CHORUS X2
Hold me in my heaviness
Use every breath
I guess somethings are best over said
Love me loud, don’t love me less
I guess somethings are best over said
