about
Rock The Boat’, a breathtakingly emotive record, sees Imogen’s ghostly vocals laid over a beautiful piano piece as the song fades into a masterful trap beat, resulting in a truly immersive soundscape. She says: “After focusing so much on romantic love, this was the first song I wrote about a family member. We've finally reconciled after many years of resentment towards each other. It's about keeping this good path that we've worked so hard to get on and not fall back into bad habits in the way we used to treat one another. They've struggled with mental health problems and coming out of a phase in my life with bouts of anxiety I realised life is too short to hold grudges. We have a new understanding of each other, and I hope this new phase in our relationship lasts a lifetime'.
lyrics
Friction in the room
Light moving plates
There's distance in your eyes
You're giving me space
I'm at a loss for words
But I've so much to say
Gonna hold it back
Cause I don't wanna end this way
It's never too late
It's never too late
To leave me again
Or tell me to wait
Don't rock the boat
Don't rock the boat
Keep your thoughts as your thoughts
But don't rock the boat
Your unsure love will come and go without a trace
You're safe enough to know you always have this space
My home is open, arms are rope, and i'm the clay
You can mould me all you want
I will never stray
It's never too late
It's never too late
To leave me again
And tell me to wait
